How does is work?
Botox®, Dysport and Xeomin are all derivatives of the Botulinum Toxin Type A protein. Botulinum injections temporarily reduces the action of the treated muscles, preventing them from moving. This relaxation of the muscles can result in softer lines or wrinkles, creating a refreshed, youthful look.

What does the treatment involve?
The treatment is quick and simple. It only takes 10-15 minutes, and the results appearing gradually over the following few days. Results can last for up to 3 or 4 months.
Are there any side effects?
This anti-ageing treatment is simple and has little to minor side effects. After the treatment, you may experience slight redness in the treated areas, this should go away within 15-20 minutes. Some people also experience a minor headache and bruising.

BOTOX® is a Prescription Medicine containing 100 units of clostridium botulinum Type A toxin complex for injection. It is used for the treatment of frown lines, crows feet and horizontal forehead lines. It should be administered only by trained medical professionals. Cautions: people with defective neuro-muscular transmission disorders, presence of infection at site of injection, glaucoma, pregnancy and lactation. Possible side effects include headaches, pain, burning or redness at injection site, local muscle weakness including drooping eye lids, lack of feeling & nausea. Xeomin® is a Prescription Medicine containing 50, 100 LD50 Units of clostridium botulinum Type A toxin complex for injection. It is used for the treatment of frown lines on the forehead in adults. It should be administered only by trained medical professionals. Talk to your specialist about the benefits/risks of this procedure in appearance medicine. Xeomin® treatment lasts about four months and further courses of treatment may be necessary. Cautions: Generalised disorders of muscle activity; Infection or inflammation at the proposed injection sites, pregnancy and lactation. Possible side effects: headache, pain, swelling or infection at injection site, local muscle weakness including drooping eye lids, lack of feeling & nausea. You will need to pay for this medicine. Dysport ® is a Prescription Medicine containing 500 units of Clostridium botulinum Type A toxin-haemagglutinin complex for injection. It is used for the treatment of severe frown lines. It should be administered only by trained medical professionals. Talk to your specialist about the benefits/risks of this procedure in appearance medicine. Cautions: Presence of infection at site of injection and glaucoma. Dysport® should only be used with caution under close supervision in patients with subclinical or clinical evidence of marked defective neuro-muscular transmission. Teratology and other reproductive studies have not been performed and Dysport's safety in pregnancy and lactation has not been established.
